First pic and post since spring! It’s good to have the cooler weather and finally be able to use my computer. It’s REALLY good not to be swamped with wedding plans and stress! I’ve been feeling a combination of frustrated, nostalgic, and somewhat bleh lately, so the inspiration for this photo is born out of those feelings. I shouldn’t be down but maybe the newlywed high is over or it’s just that reality is kicking in hard lately. Who knows. At least I can pour some of that into SL and funnel it into creativity.

A vision of beauty

Dusk Falling

Another hour, perhaps less, she mused, her gaze falling to the town below as the sun began to sink below the horizon.

It had been her evening routine for over a century now, watching the sun set and counting down the minutes until she went out to feed.The freedom to meld into the shadows of darkness as she searched for food, with no crowds, no witnesses, and best of all no sunlight hurting her sensitive eyes. There would be the drunks stumbling out of the local bar, the stragglers walking home alone at night. No kills of course, for it would be too dangerous to leave a body. A taste here, a taste there. Taking only enough to wet her appetite before moving on to another. And when daylight returned and the humans awoke, none would be the wiser. They would continue on with their lives, simply thinking her a strange and wealthy recluse.

Just a bit longer, she told herself.

Failure to Launch

“How in the Seven Seas do you get this thing to go?!”

Trying to smother her laughter, she called back down. “You just pull on the reins and point it in the direction you want to go.”

A frustrated sigh left her lips, “This is ridiculous! Why can’t we just swim to where we want to go? We have perfectly good fins and there’s really no need for these fish.”

“Oh but this is so much more FUN!” Laughing at her friends frustration she called back, “If I can figure this out, you certianly can!”

“He seems much more interested in doing his own thing as opposed to going where I would like.”

Perhaps they would have to save their adventure for another day….
